2023 EUROPEAN CEP MARKET – PRELIMINARY ESTIMATE
Effigy Consulting has just completed a preliminary assessment of the 2023 European Parcel Market.
The year 2023 faced a slow start, recovering from a challenging post-COVID situation. Despite a tense economic and political situation, volume results in the second half of 2023 strengthened versus H1/23 thanks to the recovery of the B2C segment.

THE NORDICS PARCEL MARKET
2023 PRELIMINARY RESULTS
The total Nordic CEP market has slightly grown in revenue by 1.6% and decreased in volume by 0.8%. This represents a total revenue of 5,114m€ and 854m parcels, excluding Small Packets.
The best performing country among the Nordic countries is Norway with a growth of 3.5% in revenue and an increase of 1.7% in volume. Overall, the Nordic countries seem to be performing below the 2023 preliminary European average.

THE TURKISH CEP MARKET
A NEW PARCEL ELDORADO?
Turkey has emerged as one of top growth markets for CEP carriers thanks to a strong manufacturing base, a dynamic e-commerce expansion, a prime geo-strategic location, numerous foreign investments and other factors.
The recently released results of our new Turkey CEP Market Report demonstrate strong volume growth of more than 20% in 2022, in stark contrast to Europe and North America whose markets decreased by -2.7% and -1.5% respectively. Note that the revenue expanded rapidly in 2022 by more than 80% with high inflation driving much of this increase.

2023 UKRAINIAN CEP MARKET REPORT
Effigy Consulting, in collaboration with Last Mile Experts, has just released a detailed analysis of the Ukrainian Parcel Market.
Despite a tragic war in Ukraine resulting in a highly challenging geopolitical situation, the Parcel Market was able to remain very active.
The continued activity of parcel carriers has been vital for Ukrainians: first by helping relocate key activities to ‘safer’ areas of Ukraine, and second by enabling the people to send/receive goods both within the country and cross-border. It is estimated that the drop on the Ukrainian CEP Market for 2022 was of only -8.0% in revenue and of -17.4% in volume.
